What we catch

What buyers miss
at first glance

Six things the average paste-VIN tool won't tell you about this lot. Every one is a real finding from a real auction listing.

$21K caught

Hidden HV battery damage

Tesla salvage with no airbag deployment looks clean — until you price the high-voltage pack the photos hint was damaged.

$7-12K gain

Open recall = free fix

Jeep 4xe K91 charging-system recall: $7-12K repair the dealer eats. The seller has no reason to mention it. We do.

100K mi delta

Mileage OCR mismatch

Listing says 45,000 miles. Dashboard photo says 145,000. We cross-check before you bid, not after the title arrives.

$3-5K hidden

German timing-chain trap

BMW 80K+ miles is timing-chain-guide territory. We surface the $3-5K recon the listing won't show.

26 pts saved

Clean-title valuation that's actually correct

Most tools auto-haircut every report 30-45% like it's salvage. We cap by title type so clean-title cars get a clean-title price.

$2.8K avoided

Warning light ≠ broken

AEB or airbag light on the dashboard? Often a $150 sensor reset after a yard-side battery disconnect — not a $3K ADAS job.

How it works

From URL to verdict
in under a minute

01

We find the listing

Paste a Copart URL, IAAI URL, or VIN — we pull the lot details and every photo automatically. No forms.

02

AI inspects every photo

30-50 photos analyzed in parallel — every dent, every airbag, every label. Confidence scores on every finding so you know what's certain and what's a hint.

03

You get a max bid

BUY / CONSIDER / PASS verdict + the max hammer bid that still hits a 20% margin after repairs, fees, and transport. The number you can actually defend.

Example math

$5,000 hammer on an $11,000 retail Camry

Hammer
$5,000
Copart fee
+ $370
Transport (1,200 mi)
+ $400
Repairs (itemized)
+ $2,500
All-in$8,270vs $11,000 retail
BUY · 33% margin

Every report breaks down hammer → fees → transport from your ZIP → itemized repairs → all-in cost, so you know exactly what shows up in your driveway.

Find the margin. Walk away from the rest. Specific max-bid math, not vibes.

Dealers

Defensible acquisition cost. Wholesale-floor anchor. ACV-adjusted retail target you can show your GM.

First-timers & keepers

Buying one to keep, not flip? We'll tell you what's safe to drive home, what to inspect before you do, and what it'll really cost to bring up to standard.

FAQ

Before you buy

What if the verdict feels wrong?
24h money-back, no questions asked. Email hi@vetmyride.com and tell us what felt off. We refund within 24 hours, and your feedback shapes the next version of the report.
How accurate is it? Where do your numbers come from?
Every damage finding ships with a confidence score (0-10). Sources: recalls direct from NHTSA; retail values from the Kaggle US Cars dataset (60 mainstream makes, 2016-2024) with an AI fallback for vehicles outside that set; repair costs from model-derived line items cross-checked against vehicle-intel bullets (Tesla HV, BMW timing chain, etc.); transport from yard coordinates + Haversine distance to your ZIP. When the model is out of its depth we mark it NEEDS REVIEWinstead of inventing a number. We haven't audited verdict accuracy against historical hammer prices yet — this is v1, and the 24-hour refund is your safety net while we build that track record.
Do I need a dealer license to bid?
Depends on your state. Most US states let public buyers bid on Copart through a registered broker like Copart Direct or AutoBidMaster — no license required. A handful of states restrict resale of salvage-title vehicles to licensed dealers, but personal-use buying is still allowed in most. Check your state DMV before bidding — we'll vet the lot either way.
Do you support IAAI?
Yes. Paste any Copart or IAAI lot URL. We pull the listing details and every photo automatically.
Can I refresh during the auction?
Yes. Every report includes 2 free refreshes. Each one re-pulls the latest bid, updates the bid-history graph, and re-runs the margin math so your max-bid number reflects what's happening on the block right now.
What can't you accurately analyze?
Honest list: classic / pre-2000 vehicles (our valuation dataset starts at 2016 — we hard-refuse anything older rather than guess); rare exoticsand one-off trims (out-of-domain → NEEDS REVIEW); anything where the listing photos don't show the area in question (we flag the gap, we don't fabricate damage we can't see); and structural / undercarriage damage when Copart only photographs the top half — the inspection checklist tells you what to look at on-site.
Is this a substitute for a real inspection?
No. We catch what the listing photos show, cross-check public records, and price the work. Every report ends with an inspection checklist for what to verify on-site if you decide to go look.

Our money-back promise

If something in your report doesn't feel right — the verdict seems off, the math looks wrong, or you just don't trust it — email hi@vetmyride.com and tell us why. We'll refund your payment within 24h. No objections, no fine print. We're using v1 feedback to make the product right.
